Family Violence Program Case Manager
Gia joined the FCS team in January 2020 as the Family Violence Program Case Manager for Harford County. Gia was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey but relocated to Maryland after graduating from Morgan State University with a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Criminal Justice and Public Policy (Relations in Society). In this role, Gia will provide crisis intervention services targeted towards safety planning, short-term and long term service coordination, and outreach to victims of crime and family violence by ensuring that support and resources are provided. Gia formerly worked at St. Clare’s Housing Program where she had the opportunity to work with men from the ages of 18-25 who were diagnosed with AIDs, HIV, trauma, and addiction. She also interned with Catherine’s Family and Youth Services where she served as the Lead Youth Advisor and Co-Director of the CFYS Mentoring Program where she facilitated and formulated group therapeutic sessions, educational tutoring, and college/career developmental workshops. Gia strives to encourage and uplift those seeking motivation and personal development as a means to provide a beneficial and positive home environment.
