Healthy Families Family Support Specialist
Ciara earned her Associates degree in Psychology and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Coastal Carolina University. Ciara also has educational background in Early Childhood Education and, prior to working for FCS, ran an in-home child care facility. Ciara also worked for several years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at various facilities. She served as a Victim Advocate for the Rape Crisis Center is South Carolina, answering the crisis line and accompanying victims to the hospital. Ciara has worked for FCS as a Family Support Specialist and Family Assessment Worker with the Healthy Families Howard County program since January 2018. As a Family Support Specialist and Family Assessment Worker, Ciara completes initial assessments with clients and completes home visiting services to connect families with resources in the community, offer curriculum and activities centered on parent-child interaction & bonding and attachment, and works to strengthen the relationship between parents and their children. Ciara also works to ensure families have all of the services they need to be successful and self-sufficient. Ciara enjoys working at FCS because of the close-knit team she is a part of as well as the passion to serve that the staff share and their dedication to providing wrap-around services to ensure that client needs are met.
