Healthy Families
The arrival of a new baby is always a joyous event. But it’s also a stressful time, especially for first-time parents who must adjust to changes in their lifestyles and relationships. We’re proud to partner with Howard County General Hospital in Healthy Families Howard County, a program that helps first-time parents become comfortable in their new roles. Support services are customized to meet each family’s needs and include home visits from Family and Children’s Services’ family support workers, newsletters, telephone and individual support, get-togethers for new moms, and support groups for both moms and dads. Our 24-hour Warm Line provides additional assistance for new parents by providing referrals, resources information and support.
Our newest program, Case Management for Prenatal Moms, provides comprehensive and supportive case management to uninsured and underinsured prenatal mothers in Howard County to support the health and wellbeing of the mother and the family. Our approach leverages our expertise in the areas of child abuse prevention, case management and in-home intervention to promote successful outcomes.
